Squaw Valley Real Estate Sales Return

From the beginning of the summer through October, we’ve seen 36 Squaw Valley home and condominium sales. During the same 2015 summer/fall frame, a total of 24 Squaw properties sold and only 13 in 2014. That’s a 280% increase in sales compared to the same time in 2014 and a 150% increase since last summer/season. Home inventory is significantly lower than in the last few years as well.

The reasons for increased sales activity can be attributed to a multitude of factors including a strong San Francisco bay area economy, improved Squaw Valley condo and home rental income, low interest rates and more. The most important factor is snow. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski areas had excellent snow conditions this past season and with one of the wettest falls on record, skiers are optimistic about the 2016-2017 season.

There still are good values in Squaw for properties at all price points. At Earth and Sky property, both Jennifer Borwick and Mark Lowenstern have owned multiple Alpine-Squaw area properties. We’ve been watching this market for 30 years and Mark works in the Squaw office. Please contact us for more information from condos to contemporary’s. We recommend considering finding or listing your property before the holiday season arrives.
